Hi,

the command you are searching for is:

ofgwrite <path-to-image>

but it is not included in all images by default. It also comes as part of the AutoBackup plugin.

Kind regards
Hounce

Hi,

no, with ofgwrite you can flash the usual images like the nightly Open PLi, open HDF, open ATV or whatever. No special images are required, so you can simply download the image of your choice.
Change to the directory et5x00 of the image you downloaded, and enter:

/usr/bin/ofgwrite ./

if you have copied the binary to /usr/bin. That's it. I attached the tool.
Please note that according to the author of the tool it can happen in rare cases that flashing fails - in this case only flashing via USB helps, which would be a problem for you. Anyhow I am not sure, if the online flashing can help you at all.

Good luck!

Kind regards
Hounce

can you please tell me how to install this ofgwrite so i can use it to flash the image ,,because i am soo weak on linux stuff :( ???

Hi,

use any FTP client like WinSCP or FileZilla or simply Samba to copy it to the box.

I would recommend to copy it to the directory /usr/bin.

Afterwards make it executable, usually you can do this with a right click on it within the FTP client, or by using the LINUX command
chmod 0750 /usr/bin/ofgwrite

Alternatively you could copy it together with the image on a USB stick and make the following (assuming ofgwrite is in the root directory):

chmod 0750 /media/usb/ofgwrite
/media/usb/ofgwrite /media/usb/et5x00/

If the stick is mounted to somewhere else you need to modify the paths above accordingly.

Grüße
Hounce
